FAQ'S
Answers to our most commonly asked questions.
-
Does my child need a formal diagnosis to register in your programs? No. We are an inclusive centre that provides small class sizes with trained and qualified staff. Our goal is to support families that feel their child(ren) would benefit from our small class sizes and extra attention.
-
Can siblings attend your programs?Yes! Unless otherwise stated, siblings are more than welcome to register into classes. They can register into the same class as their sibling or any of our classes that would be of interest to them.
-
What if I know my child will require 1:1 support?Talk to us during your initial intake session. We are happy to provide the 1:1 support at cost to help with the transition into the program.
-
What if my child needs space and/or time to self-regulate during class? They are encouraged and welcome to use our sensory space. We built the sensory space in the middle of our centre as self regulation is an integral part of being able to participate and enjoy our programs. We wanted our participants to feel at home in our space and be able to access sensory materials when they need to.
-
Can I use Autism Funding to cover the cost of the programs?Yes! You can submit a Request to Pay to Autism Funding and once approved, we can bill them directly. When signing up for a program, don't pay online. Send us an email at info@thisworldsours.com to let us know that you would like to use autism funding. Here is a sample Request to Pay form with the information you will need.
-
Can my child attend classes while we are waiting for our autism funding request to pay to be approved?Absolutely! We know it can take a few weeks to get approval and we encourage you to start attending right away. We will bill them directly once it is approved.
-
Are you strict about the ages for the programs? No. We understand that developmental age, skill level, and interest vary in each learner. Please feel free to talk to us if you are not sure about the suitability of a specific program. Email us at info@thisworldsours.com
-
What days is the centre closed? We are closed on all stat holidays.
-
Are parents allowed to stay while children are in programs?Absolutely! We have a quiet parent waiting area with tea, where parents are always welcome to sit and relax. You are also welcome to sit in the main area to watch your child. We want you to feel comfortable in our space, so please make yourself at home.
-
Where can I park? There is one space in front of the centre that is one hour parking that is good for dropping off or picking up your child(ren). There is a small paid parking lot beside the centre, just down the alley with 14 spaces. Please do not park in any reserved spaces or in the fire lane in the alley. There is also street parking on Main St or on 10th St. Please ensure you check signage on Main St as there are some no parking hours. If additional parking is required, there is a large underground parking lot under Thierry across Main St.
